Ways to Win Allah azza wajall's Love
Points from a lecture by Sh Muhammad Alshareef, entitled "Does Allah Loves Us?":
From Ibn Qayyim's work:
1. Praying Tahajjud - take advantage of 3rd portion of the night.
2. Constant remembrance of Allah subhanak - "And remember ME, I will remember you"[Quran]
3. Read the qur'an - "A book is sent down mubarak,so that hey will contemplate its verses"[Quran]
4. Be with the people who love Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
-Choose a good companion
- benefit from the righteous and pious companions
-Example of the dogs mentioned in Surah Kahf, why these dogs are mentioned? Because of the
companionship with Men of the Cave, these dogs were raised in status when Allah mentioned them in the Quran
5. We must love to meet Allah
- whoever have this loves, he/she will work hard in doing good deeds and struggle in preventing
oneself from sins in order to meet Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
6. Push away anything that stands between us and Allah and HIS Messenger
7. Put sunnah of Rasulullah sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam in front of us, easily reached by us
-there's no love to Allah if you don't love Rasulullah and its sunnah
8. Make patience as part of our character
-"And Allah loves those who are patient"[Quran]
9. Learn the Names and its characteristic of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
- when we read quran and came across any names of Allah, like Ar-Rahman we can contemplate the meaning and apply it in our lives
10. Continue in doing our nawafil (voluntary) deeds:
-Allah said: "The slaves will continue to come close to me in voluntary deeds untill I love him."[ HadithQudsi]
